Lead Climbing

“Gee, in the old days people used aid to make things easier, nowadays they use aid to make things harder.”
– Juanita Donini

Here at Redpoint Worcester we have a huge selection of lead climbing routes, with some walls being dedicated to lead only, reaching one of the highest points in the centre. And with the huge range of grades we can cater for the complete novice lead climber, to climbing pro.

All of our lead climbing routes have our own quickdraws, which we check and maintain regularly,  so there’s no need to bring your own. We don’t however hire out ropes for lead climbing, so that is something you will have to provide yourself.

Competent adult climbers are welcome to use the lead climbing areas.

If you are new to lead climbing you should book a lead climbing course or be accompanied by a competent adult.

I want to lead climb, can you teach me?

Many climbers find it challenging to make the leap from top rope climber to lead climber. Our instructors can guide you safely through all the pitfalls of lead climbing on an indoor wall that opens up a whole array of new routes for you to enjoy.
